About This Oil
Marula Oil is cold-pressed from the kernels of the Sclerocarya birrea tree — a wild African tree sometimes called the "marriage tree" or "elephant tree," named for the fact that elephants travel great distances to eat its fruit. Native to the miombo woodlands and savannas of sub-Saharan Africa and Madagascar, marula produces a light, clear oil with a delicate, slightly nutty aroma that has become one of the most sought-after natural face oils in the world.
Texture & Feel
Marula Oil is elegantly lightweight — one of the most beautifully dry-finish of all African plant oils. It absorbs quickly into skin without any greasy residue, making it a favourite for facial oil formulations, particularly for those who prefer a light, non-occlusive feel.
Skin Care
Apply 2–3 drops to clean skin morning or evening, or blend into your regular moisturiser for an extra layer of conditioning. Suitable for most skin types and works beautifully as a standalone facial oil or as a carrier oil base for essential oil blends. Try blending with a drop of frankincense or rose otto for a luxuriously aromatic facial oil.
Hair Care
A few drops of marula oil smoothed through damp or dry hair ends give shine and a beautifully conditioned, silky feel. Particularly effective for adding a high-gloss finish and managing frizz.
Nail Care
Massage into cuticles and nails daily for a soft, conditioned feel.
Blends Well With
Rosehip seed oil, tamanu oil, neroli essential oil, rose otto, and frankincense essential oil.
